Hi, I’m William!
I am a Software Engineer and researcher on many topics, from AI for endangered indigenous languages, to avionics software for real-time mission critical systems. I am trained in C++ and Python as my programming languages, and can speak Spanish, Kaqchikel Maya, and am learning K’iche’. Outside of the STEM world, I’m also a radio show host at MIT’s historical radio station, WMBR 88.1 FM. My shows explore a wide range of music genres, interviews with people from all walks of life, and podcasts focused on linguistics and Mayanist research.
I'm especially passionate about using natural language processing to support endangered Indigenous languages—particularly Mayan—and also enjoy working on visual projects like fractal generation and openFramework (still learning 😅). Occasionally, you’ll catch me DJing late-night sets just for the love of it.
